strawberry 7/23
#1
we went to strawberry again on saturday. got rained off about noon. when we were driving away it looked like it may have been lifting. anyone stay through the storm? i kind of wish we had stuck it out- ive had times when it has really paid off to be on the lake right after a rain storm. but, we came home. things change a little when you have an 81 year old guy with you. (my grandpa) a few years ago we slaughtered them by fishing in the storm with ponchos on. it was amazing how hot the fishing was during the down-pour. fishing was a little slower than it was the past two weeks. we caught around 35 between 4 of us, but they just werent as quick as before. we fished from about 7-12 O'clock. im not sure if it was the storm coming in or what, but it was a little slow. anyone else fish it saturday? how did you do? we used pop geer and worm and trolled on downriggers and one lead line setup. I'm sure it wasn't as fast as before, but I have a hard time calling 35 fish in 5 hours "a little slow". Some of my most memorable days on the water hasn't yielded 7 fish an hours. Great reprort though, hopefully the fish will be a little more cooperative for you next time.

i only consider it slow based on the previous two weeks fishing! i know it was a pretty good day- but it definately slowed down.
