Weekend fishing trip looking for the elusive Redfish....
#1
Well it was an ok trip this past weekend. We did come home with some fish to clean so I guess we can't complain to much. The weather was beautiful but cold, so we all bundled up and headed out. We had heard there had been some luck lately at a spot not far from marsh island called the Hell hole, so we headed that way. On his first cast, RobO a friend of ours hooked onto a very large catfish.... nice blue channel cat....We ended the day with 6 nice cats, 5 reds, 1 was a 27" bull red, and one drum. Not a bad haul when you consider the cats were an average of 15 pounds each..... We will be heading out again this weekend weather permitting, so I will see if we can find a mess of reds, to bad the water in vermillion bay has been looking like gumbo, the reds don't mind it but the specks don't care for it!
