Echo Report 05 Jan
#1
Jmig, Bean and I went to Echo and fished off the boat launch for perch. We got a bunch of small ones 4-6 inches and kept 15 or so 8 - 10 inches. Fished in 24ft of water using red jig head, no body with perch meat and eyes. JMIG used a green ice fly. Fishing for perch was fast, the school moves quite a bit, if you don't catch one for a couple of minutes just stay put, they'll be back. Bean caught 2 beautiful trout, a 24 inch bow that probably went 7 lbs. and a 20 inch Brown that went 3 - 4 lbs. Both were bright and FAT with no sign of Anchor Worm, they were sent back no worse for wear. We all have digital cameras but didn't bring them because we were only fishing for perch. The IFG stands humbled and Bean is the greatest ice fishermen ever. Strawberry is the place for next Saturday, I hear Chicken Creek west is fishing the best. Let you all know how we do.
