Michigan Perch, Crappie and Bluegill Fishing Reports

In the Alanson area, the crappie fishing is pretty good on Crooked Lake. Minnows are working well as bait, in the shallower waters around the lake.

Around Traverse City, the bluegill and crappie fishing is fair on the lakes where there is some open water.

By Frankfort, the perch fishing is fair on Crystal Lake. Both minnows and wigglers are being used as bait.

The perch fishing on Manistee Lake is starting to pick up. Try using wigglers as bait, in water about 20 feet deep.

At Cadillac, the crappie fishing is fair to good on Lake Cadillac. The best fishing is found near the “causeway” on the west side of the lake.

By Ludington,the perch fishing is reported as being fair near the Hamlin Lake Dam. The panfish fishing is reported as being fair on Hamlin Lake.

Out of the Muskegon area, the crappie fishing is very good along the eastern shoreline of Mona Lake. Minnows are working well as bait.

Chippewa Lake is producing some very good crappie fishing. Minnows are the preferred bait. Anglers on the lake are also catching an occasional bluegill.

In the Kalamazoo area, anglers on Gull Lake are catching good numbers of bluegill. Spikes, waxworms and red worms are all being used as bait.

Out of the Three Rivers area, the crappie and bluegill fishing is good on Corey, Klinger, Clear and Pleasant lakes.

Around Grayling, the bluegill fishing is fair on Lake Margrethe. Anglers are fishing from boats, using waxworms as bait. Anglers wading out from shore on Manistee Lake are catching a few bluegills.

Anglers on Fletcher Pond are catching a few bluegill and crappie.

Near Oscoda, anglers on Van Etten Lake are catching a few perch.

Houghton Lake is producing some very good bluegill and crappie fishing. The best fishing is found along the canals around the lake.
Fishing activity this week is slow on Higgins Lake.

The perch fishing is improving in the cuts and by the marinas along Saginaw Bay near Linwood.

Around Mount Pleasant,the panfish fishing on the local lakes ranges from being slow to fair.

At Jackson, the crappie fishing is very good on most of the local lakes and channels. Minnows are the preferred bait. The bluegill fishing is good in the channels, with waxworms working well as bait.

The perch fishing in the cuts around Harsens Island is fair.

Anglers by the Gibraltar Bridge are catching a few panfish. The perch fishing is fair along the US/Canadian border.

At Belleville, the crappie fishing is fair on Belleville Lake. The best spots to fish are near the bridges on the lake. Minnows are the preferred bait.
