Washing/waxing aluminum boats?
#1
I have a 19' aluminum crestliner deep v with a 140 hp merc. The boat is a little older but a gem!

I was just wondering what you all do as far as maintaining the hull of the boat?

Do you wash, wax buff etc. What reccomendations do you have?

I have heard that you can really increase the performance of your boat by maintaining the hull?

Your expertise and help is appreciated.

I'm sure I'll here plenty about this but this is how I maintain my alumiunum hull....

I have had my boat for seven years - the only substance I use on it is white vinegar - it's run $2 a gallon and removes water stains and does not leave a film. I also bought two cheap spray bottles to apply the vinegar.

I wipe the boat down about three times a year and sometimes have to use some other cleaners (409, Dawn) to get rid of road tar, etc.

Give it a try - it's cheap & it works!!!
