I am making the move up to Northern Utah this summer and wanted to see if anyone knew of any websites that list out the types of fish in each body of water. I want to make sure i know what I am targeting when I head out.

Also, along Legacy Parkway, there is a small pond on the west side of the road. Anyone know the name and species?

Finally, same type of question: When I brought a load of furniture up in January, I noticed icefisherman on a little pond/river to the east of I-15 at Kaysville. Anyone know the name of this one? Thanks to all and I cannot wait to get up there to fish a little more.

It's the fishing hot spot page,If you put your curser over the little ballons, and then click once it will tell you all about it including the fish that are suppose to be in the body of water.

[cool][#0000ff]Plenty of good fishin' holes in Utah, and plenty of info on various websites. Pick 'em one at a time and start your education.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The pond next to the Legacy highway is Bountiful Pond. It is one of the Communty Fishing Waters and is listed and described on the DWR web page for that program. In short, they stock it with trout and catfish...in addition to bass, white bass, carp and other species that are already in it. Read the regs for special info on limits, etc.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Ditto for the Kaysville ponds.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Monitor our forum and you will pick up on the current hot action spots and will be able to ask your questions on specific waters.[/#0000ff]

Thank You Tubedude!!
Your A # 1

Why can't you all just post Bountiful Pond buyt You can find it at....

Instead of Go to here and do this and this and blah blah blah...

That's why I hate this forum sometimes.

Thanks to Tubedude and his unselfish attitude. The rest of you should follow his example.

I think you may have inserted your foot in to your mouth. (That's a family friendly version of what I was thinking [Wink])
I thought the post was going good, no single person answered everything from the original post but as a whole it seemed that the answers were coming. There were different places for this person to check out online to answer his questions. Kissing butt will get you nowhere but you did an A # 1 good job of it!

bmitchell:
On the dwr website that was listed above you can also check out the stocking reports. They will tell you when the ponds are being stocked and if you can beat the crowd you can usually do pretty good.

Foot in my mouth - kissing butt, Whatever you think.

I like how Tubedude handles himself on this website and I also admire his stories and photos.

So maybe a little.

The only answers that were coming were goto's.

No one said "that is Bountiful pond" or "Kaysville pond visit the comunity waters and the fish and game website: insert web link here!"

It took five posts for someone to give him the names of the ponds. Was it was really hard for that to happen. not at all. But you all, and you know who I'm talking about, think that instead of just answering a persons question, You all make it into a web fest. He is from out of state. Maybe he doesn't have the time to research it all. We all know the names and if you don't, then don't post answers that really are not answers. Some of you just give me a freakin headache.

That's all I'm saying.

To be fair, the man asked 3 separate questions. One of which was specifically asking for websites he could look at to determine what fish were in which waters. The first few posts that gave you a headache were direct and specific answers to that question.

I really don't care either way, but I thought putting accurate info out there to settle this little cat fight would be beneficial, especially for our out of state friend who is coming to visit and hopefully will get into some great fishing when he gets here!

So, although they didn't answer all 3 questions he asked, those 5 posts were relevant, answered a specific question he asked. Maybe it's time to go fishing and chillax a bit!

I would strongly suggest getting on the websites posted, they will be most beneficial. And continue to get on here. Every once in a while someone gets their panties wrapped a little too tight, but overall, it's a GREAT place to exchange info and hang out.

For the stocking reports mentioned you can go here: http://wildlife.utah.gov/stocking/2009.php

That will tell you a lot about the fish in these waters.

No need to be quiet. You know how opinions are...I should have stated that anybody could have said 'bountiful pond' but what does that really tell him? Obviously he knows where they are located. On the mentioned websites he can look at the interactive maps, learn what fish are in there, read the stocking reports, find other waters that are close by, read recent fishing reports, etc. All that information will not make it into this one post, therefore, he was pointed in another direction. Believe it or not but the posters were helping him whether you agree with it or not.
"Maybe he doesn't have the time to research it all."
We have done the research and that's why we pointed him toward the mentioned websites.
Anyways, if somebody is moving to Utah I would like them to know that there is better water to fish than Bountiful pond [shocked][laugh].

I had not idea the questions I asked would cause the backlash they did. I appreciate the help and all the websites went straight to my internet favorites. It is great to know there is so much help on this site and although I am still two months from moving there permanently, I check it constantly throughout the day to get my updated information. Thanks to all that make this useful.

Don't worry about our bickering, I'm sure we would rather be fishing than sitting in front of our computers typing about it. Regardless, check in when you get here. Fishing should be good.
