Between visiting my mom and my wife's mother, we decided to hit the water to put some time on the motor. We put in at the dam and ran nearly up to grasshopper. Dives you crazy trying to keep from pressing the pedal on down and cruising emoBang But, I've got to get it broke in right...lol I've got 3 hrs on the motor now and need another 7 emoRolleyes
We threw a couple of rods in the boat when we left and fished a few minutes while we were riding around. Water level was at full pool, temps were between 66 and 67 ... water was stained on the lower end and much clearer upstream. We tried hitting some main river ledges and flats with carolina rigs and only pulled up 1 catfish. Tried some crank baits on some rocky shoreline and never saw a fish... finally caught a few in less than 3 ft of water (sorry... no pics ) on spinnerbaits and plastics. Had a couple good keepers and lost a really nice fish that had some interesting aerobatics emoTongue Would like to have weighed it. Was a good day to be on the water. We were north of the rain most of the time and didn't get too wet. We made our way back to the dam boat ramp as the rain was moving out.
