Sorry for the late report but have not had internet service since yesterday sometime, just got it back.
I put in at HBSP about 6:30 am and fished until about 11:30 am. The plan was for some topwater action with the bass but narry a bite did I get on top. I threw a Pop-R for a WHILE with no results and they decided to fish some blow downs with a smoke colored lizard and did OK. I finished the day with a total of 8 bass and most were really nice, had one that weighed 3# 5oz and I'm "attempting" to post a picture of it. Also caught a catfish on the lizard. Water temp was just over 82 most of the time. Fish caught in shallow water, from 2 ft to about 5 ft deep. I still can't understand why the topwater bite was not on. Anyway, it was fun to be out on the water again.
