Well, I fished between Soddy Creek and Hiwassee Island between 7and 12 this am. I started out working some 15-25 ft.drops with a 1.5oz. Ledgebuster spinnerbait - nada. Then I got my crappie fix by catching 6 along a bluff (3 keepers). Then I worked a deep creek channel/main channel junction with the Ledgebuster and a 3/4oz. 3.5in. smoke/glitter Gitzit. The Gitzit got 4 LM, but none over 15in. Then I went exploring for crappie holes, found some that I thought looked like promising docks and steep rocky banks with current breaks, but no crappie. All I got from them was a 16in. LM, a 13in. spot, a small drum and several small bluegills. Bluegills were everywhere pecking at your crappie jigs as the willow flies were hatching. A flyrod and popping bugs would have been fun. Man it got hot by noon with no breeze yet. No fish pictures, nothing worth taking but the sunrise in the fog. All fish were released. TVA kicked up the flow to 40,00cfs plus around mid- morning. Not many people out this am for a Friday, too hot, I guess.
