Hal, Chick, Mixed, 7-12-09, Nite Fishing Alone

I thought I'd try some night fishing for crappie so I put in at CF about 2AM, emoScratch <br />The parking lot was FULL and even parked up behind the bath house, emoParty Looks like the bass boys are having an all night party, emoLaugh <br />Well I got my cure for the year for night fishing for crappie, nada 'till 6 AM, emoAngry Plenty of minnows under the light but no crappie. Did catch a little white bass about 4 inches long and 2 yella's from 2:30 'till 6 when the crappie finally showed up, emoRedface <br />Caught 2 about 12 and a half back to back then some smaller ones. After 14 crappie and 1 small blue cat I moved on to another dock and some structure and ended the day at 10:30 with a total of 26 crappie, one big ole spot, one 'gill and another cat which measured 28 inches, (didn't weigh him so don't know what the weight would be) The big scratch on his head must have happened while I was trying to get him to the boat where he tried to get off around a dock bar, emoRolleyes emoScratch Not a great night/day but better than catching none, emoThumbsup Crappie were 60% keepers today. Bait of choice seemed to be BG bleeding shad in 20 to 35 FOW and mostly on a 10-15 count. Water temp was 79*-81* and it did start to rain about 10 AM.<br />At one time I thought I would like to have a pontoon boat but the more I see of people trying to get on the trailer in the wind the more I know I don't want one, emoRolleyes <br />Some poor guy at the ramp must have tried 10 times to get on the trailer straight while everyone waited in line, :o
