Small Pontoon Boat Registration questions?
#1
It's been about 10 years since I registered my Toon, and I was wondering if it's still a requirement to license a personal pontoon boat with a motor in Utah? I thought I read somewhere recently that it was no longer required, but I haven't been able to confirm it.

If it's still required, is there a way to do it online without having to go the the DMV?

What do you need to take with you if you have to do it in person (there's no serial number except for the electric motor)?

Thanks

Yes you do have to register it. It is $37.50 per year. They need a form filled out showing ownership.

A total of three forms needed:
Proof of Ownership form
TC-661
TC-162

You can get all these online on the DMV website. Fill them out and take them into the DMV to get registered.

$37.50 to register a toon? What a total rip-off

Thanks for the info. I'll get on it this week, and hopefully get launched here soon.

When I registered mine in August I asked some questions.

a small dinghy would be the same price, a 18' bass boat would be $137. So the price would seem a little steep but I think it is better than the alternative of a citation that would probably be a whole lot more.
