provo today
#1
what a great day to fish, save the 108332846483636482638 people out on the provo. got there around 540am, and was fishing by 0620, landed three dinks immediatly thanks to my head lamp then landed my first nice fish (first pic it was pitch black out, thank goodness for the flash). around 0645 2 guys showed up and started fishing below me, cool dudes, gave them a few flys i was catching with then went back to catching. worked the same hole all day long and caught my biggest brown in the provo to date. its the middle pic, and notice the nub on his mouth (third pic)... i also took a pic of him swimming away(4th pic), its amazing how the browns blend into the river bottom. anyway one of the 2 guys that were fishing below say they were thinking i landed between 35 and 40 fish..... i hooked up with many more but did not land them all. not many small fish, think the smallest was 10 inches, most were running all the same size except for the few larger ones i caught. used my go to fly with a little off colored bead head i got the other day. enjoy the pics!

Very nice 18" to 20"?! Good idea to lay the rod next.

Nice fish man. I think the most impressive part is that you caught so many fish out of the same hole. I typically catch one or two in a hole and move on unless I know it loaded. Sounds like you must have found one that was. Did the trout seem to be spawning at all (ie any eggs shoot out)? I caught one that was full of eggs on the lower provo. Sounds like they are really stacking up there below Jordanelle. Exciting stuff man. Good work.
