Freida and I thought that we would check out the crappie for an hour or so before the rain came at noonish. Luckily it didn't come until about 1PM. We fished panfish assassins in the creek at about a 4 count, on 1/32 oz jigs. The bite was incredibly subtle. Mostly just a bit too much slack or the line just a bit tight and a set of the hook and the fish was there. The water in the creek is clearing up. The water temp. was in the 46 degree range for the most part. I did see up to 49 at one point. I fished for a while and then a boat came up and fished with me filled with two guys so covered with clothes that I couldn't tell who they were. It was DK and Hal, just back from dropping some fish attractors. It was great to see them! We shared the spot for a while only catching a few more, including a couple of bass. We then moved to a dock that usually holds some fish and they were there too. I think they said that they caught over 20 on that dock. I caught some there too. They were at about an 8 count. It began to rain and I was getting a bit cold and I headed for the house to make some coffee for the guys and called them up when it was ready. What a great way to spend some quality time with some good fishing buddies. The rain continued and they left for the ramp. I ended up with 7 big slabs that I let go. Hal got a pic and might post it later. Thanks for sharing the creek with me today guys!
