Finally: THE CRAPPIE ARE POPPIN!
#1
Went to CJ today and bucked the 2-3 foot rollers and strong east wind until I got sea sick in my pontoon so I had to get out and figured if I'm just sitting on the bank I just as well throw in a line and bang, I started catching crappie on just about every cast[fishin]

Funny how things work. I just talked to a guy who said he went on a family outing yesterday with three boats and they only caught one crappie.

Things can change fast.

Was out at Cottonwood today with a friend, and before dark between the two of us we must have caught 60 fish. Kept 7 big ones, released the rest. Yes, things are finally getting started down there.

All the fish we caught were females, mostly heavy with eggs. That tells me the spawn hasn't started yet, since the males move in first to make the nests. Weather forecast is supposed to be up and down over the next week, though. Get out while you can.

Make sure you bring bug repellent, though. The skeeters are biting too.
