Was thinking of heading to Hagg Lake this weekend, never fished it and was wondering if anyone has had any success there for smallies or largemouth. I don't need any secrete spots but just a general idea of lake conditions would be greatly appreciated.

I have fished Hagg a ton in the past, but not recently. I have been fortunate enough to have fished it several times with the four state record holders for smallies, and I mounted the current state record.
In a nutshell, the bare points and humps at the lower end are where the smallies hang out, and the grassy stuff in the upper end is where the largies live. There are a few spots for big largies on the lower end, but too tough to describe where. The smallies really need to be finessed- small lures and light lines. Early am. Good luck.
