I went yesterday with my son and caught six in four hours. Not fast fishing but they were biting.

Ice was 6-8". Iffy ice on the edges at the boat ramp, my foot went through but it was less than a foot deep at that point.

I'll post a more detailed report later but fished the dam today. Edges are solid there. Fish in about 20' and only 5-7' down. Use glow with meal worm and you will catch fish. Ice will be singing so hope that doesn't bother your daughter. Good luck.
