Wyoming's Call of the Wild Hooks Big Fish on Jackson Lake

New Berlin, WI - (January 30, 2011) - Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, is proud to showcase a heartwarming fishing episode of Wyoming's Call of the Wild. Set in the majestic Teton Mountains in northwestern Wyoming, host, Craig Conrad introduces Michael Dilworth (High School student at Golden High School - Colorado) to the world of trout fishing at Jackson Lake. Michael is active in school activities and lives with Downs Syndrome. Dilworth has not had a lot of luck getting into outdoors or catching a fish - however, his luck is about to CHANGE! You can watch this unforgettable episode on Wednesday, February 1 at 7:00 p.m. EST.

The first day of fishing brought cold temperatures and plenty of rain, however the results were bountiful. Dilworth arrived feeling somewhat nervous and shy, although, once he stepped on the boat and grabbed his fishing rod, the uneasiness disappeared. The "fishing Gods" shined down quickly as Conrad used his "twitcher" fly to catch a couple of trout. A few moments later Dilworth reeled in a beautiful Rainbow Trout. The fish were biting so well, it was enough to fill their cooler - enough for a fish-fry dinner.

"This fishing trip was all about the experience of getting Michael in the boat and showing him what the great outdoors has to offer," said Craig Conrad, host of Wyoming's Call of the Wild. "The look on Michael's face after he caught his first fish was priceless. Exposing kids to the outdoor and making those dreams come true is the fabric of our show. Getting people off the couch and into the outdoors is vitally important for our outdoor heritage and for the future of our wildlife resources."

In another MUST-see segment of the show, Conrad presents Dilworth with a bb gun and takes him on his first "hunt". Conrad tied helium-filled balloons around the meadow and showed his new best friend how to stalk the balloons and fire on them. This moment proved to be one of the many highlights for both teacher and apprentice.
