Uinta Mountain Mixed bag

Friday I dropped by fish tech grab some flie goods talk for a while to some one like always [bobhappy] then it time to go to uinta. Got up there sorda late around 5pm set up tent end off to butterfly lake got there round 6pm start fly fishing gosh i hate the tiger trouts they would slap my ECD and one big tiger took it but got off beacause it was so small to wrap around the lily pads so so long big one. Nothing good till it got dark end up tossing a white wolly bugger and looky here end up with 2 tiger 2 bows and 1 brookie. Went in to car oh great here comes that 40% rain shower [mad] Got to camp and cleaning my fish. I was cold like no other cleaning fish and this time I felt like a wet pupy [:/]. Rain rain rain boom boom boom thunder storms and no ear plugs night mare 3 hr sleep.

Saturday woke up 6:30 and those tiger trouts were calling my name. Drove off to butter fly went to my nice tiger condo and know on the water with some buggers and the tigers let me in to slay them [cool]. They were slapping like crazy after it caught 6 of them 2 unhooked while getting to shore and many hits missed []. It slowed down dead. Decided to hit one river spot that i havent been in years went around and dang the river was small small small but i saw so many brookies going crazy it was the end of the world for them today. No love on flies there but busted the ETDT lure caught a long skinny tiger. Back to car took wrong way not fun having sweater and long shirt in this head of fire bombs. Almost passes out walking to car. I decided to go to lily lake for a tad bit went to my fav spot caught 3 tigers 2 on woolly and 1 on nymphocater or sycodelic cant remember what its name XD. Went to provo river roaring at me and didnt like me. Went to other campsite to the other river side what ever you call it that go to evenston baby brookies here and ther but no love deep water but no quality fish.

Sunday woke up late went on hike up to ruth lake but nothing hike to lofty lake slow action but at least caught one nice keeper cutty and few dinkers.

Excited for next week trip and that mean off to fish tech again.

Sounds like you had a pretty fun time up there. I love that area. There is nothing like escaping to the Uintas, it's just so relaxing, even if you are at the mercy of thunderstorms.

Your last picture has me wondering... Have you been eating lots of mushrooms? Perhaps some of the funny ones that are causing you to see lord of the ring eyes? Just joking with ya.

I am telling you a worm on the bottom with a second pole is a Uinta killer. I have 2 friends that swear by that method and I have found it to be true.

So this fly that was either a psychodelic or nymphicator tung. Was it blue-ish or was it purple? That is the clear difference.

The blue fox spinner is a good choice...but the mosquito dry fly would probley out do that Elk Hair Caddis you are so fond of. There are plenty of lakes in that area......next time do a little "off trail" hiking and who knows....you might just stumble apon a gem. You need to invest in a better camera with all these Uinta trips you are going on. Trust me....a great camera is worth the investment.

P.S. TDT is right......the weightless worm on the bottom is a great 2nd pole killer on the trout of the Uintas.

ya the fishing was fun the rain was tormenting but ya when i was walking down from the hike from ruth lake down i dont know how but took wrong turn and end up walking in a nice woody area and i just find a mushroom that probably grow from the rain storm. Would be nice if it rained more so more mushrooms would grow so i could find the ones to make soup but its not the year ly.

ya this week i didnt really think i was going to go hiking but this week i shall go to more hikes and maybe on the hand buy some worms if flies wont work.

ya the silver fox did me good on the river. Ya i forgot to buy some mosquitos but man those tiger were slapping and jumping after it just gota hate them tangle good in the lilly pads.

Ya if i had the money and didnt need to pay off my car i would buy a new camera but for now i got my ipod as a camera and thats all i can do at least some one want to donate a camera to this poor child who goes to the uinta a lot.

ya i might get some worms next time if i hike so you guys just toss worm with no weight on it just the hook line and worm.
