Deer Creek tips?
#1
I fished DC earlier this year and had a blast trolling for trout. I have not fished it for about 60 days since the water has been drawn down so far.
I am taking a work buddy and his 6 year old boy there tomorrow morning and I HAVE to have his little boy catch some fish.
I have a boat with riggers and can troll, which I think is going to be my best guarantee for him. Has anybody been there in the last couple of days and is willing to share any tips. I am not opposed to anchoring and I also have an electric positioning motor to hover if needed. I would love to put him on a school of perch but haven't heard of any steady perching and Starvation is just too far to take him for a 1/2 day of fishing.
I think we will start out with the rigger/stacker with spoons/dodgers at different heights. On the other two poles maybe go a black bugger and a rapala/lucky?
Any help would be appreciated!

For Trout,
Ive been up there the last 3 weekends and have done well on Pop Gear and a Worm and Wedding Rings tipped with a worm behind a Dodger. A lot of others Ive talked to have caught them on Flatfish. I troll 3 to 4 colors (no Downrigger) along the Bank between Wallsburg inlet and the point at Rainbow Bay. If it gets slow for any reason, I thrown out some Power Bait at the Point and Drift. This has worked well other then Last Sunday, we didn't even get a bite on Power Bait fishing it for 3 hours. But did well trolling so it didn't matter.

If you get there at the right time of twilight -- early or late -- I haven't been able to keep the perch off my crank bait casting.

I literally reel one one every 2-3 casts.... for the right 45 minutes of the day.

Just out of curiosity because I want to try this tomorrow... have you tried tipping your pop gear or wedding rings with perch meat?

We caught some rainbows trolling and some bait fishing. My buddy's kid caught a nice 19" rainbow that he could barely land but he did it on his own.
Thank you everybody!!!
