Crappy Channel Cat Fishing lately?
#1
Me and a buddy went on friday and saturday with very little luck. Only 2 channel cats in like 10 hours between the 2 of us...

Any1 else struggling with them as well? About a month ago I could knock them dead with plain worms and now i'm using specifically cat fish bait and like I said we caught only 2 in about 10 hours....

My theory is they move and change feeding habits. Basically - they move away from spots where I know how to find 'em in spring, and change from feeding on what and when I offer.
In other words - I too have crappy luck with cats in summer! But I'm also less focused on catting, as the Bass and the real Crappie are pretty entertaining in the warm water season!

Hit a spot Sat morn - where a couple months ago - we were nailing 'em almost non-stop. Many were bitty kitties, and we did run into a few of those. But I missed a number of timid bites too.

But then you see a report from 'daDude - and he's still out hitting his honeyholes and clobbering the kitties, so I chalk it up to needing to learn to change tactics, locations, offerings... they're out there!

Been hearing from some who claim they get into some good cattin in fall, so maybe they'll slap on the feedbag as weather cools.
