PV 2/11/13 report
#1
I hit Pineview for the first time this year and was not disappointed. I went out looking for the Crappie but struck out.

I did do well for the perchies though. It seemed like everywhere I drilled a hole they were down there. At one point I actually tried to unfind them. I kept 25 for tacos and released a bunch more. The ones caught averaged around 7 inches and tasted terrific.

The big catch of the day was a nice Small Mouth bass. My first out from under a sheet of ice.

All in all it was a great day to get out of the smog and do some fishing. the ice was pretty darn thick. I am not sure how thick because i did not measure it. It was probably around 15 to 18 inches North of Cemetary Point. I fishied from about 930 am to 130 pm.

Why are all the bass boyz looking for bass in open water these days? Looks like if they try they might just get a bass or two out there under the ice.

It would be sweet to have a under water camera to see what else checks out your tackle...........especially PV. I might just have to trek up there soon.

Its funny you say that about a camera. I was sitting there today thinking that exact same thing.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that smallie pop out of the hole.
