2013 Fly Fishing TroutBumDave

First fish of the contest:

It was actually 23", but I couldn't get it to cooperate. I am posting a few pictures since I couldn't get it all in one shot.

21" Pike, Yuba, on an olive/white perchy thingy.

[#000080]Nice fish.......However there is an issue regarding the measurement. I am sorry but this fish will not count. [/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#ff0000] [#000080]#8. [/#000080][#000080]Picture should be taken from end of ruler, ruler laid on the ground under/next to fish[/#000080]. Need to be able to see both ends of the tape.[/#ff0000]

It's all good man, I knew it probably wouldn't count, but still wanted to post it because it was an awesome fish and my first on a fly. The good news is that I went back and nailed a few more. Here's this bad boy:

23" @ Yuba
[Image: April13162_zpsf02a7c62.jpg]

And here is what is left of the fly:

Keep in mind that that was a brand spanking new chartreuse and white deceiver with maybe 30 seconds of water time... Those buggers are MEAN.

[#ff0000]Need to be able to see both ends of the tape.[/#ff0000]

[#000080]Since the 1st half inch of the tape is missing you will be awarded 22.5 inches and not 23 inches.[/#000080]
[#000080][/#000080]
[#000080]45 points have been added to your total.[/#000080]
[#000080]You have 45 points total.[/#000080]

Has coyotespinner been teaching you math? [Wink]

Wouldn't your scoring system put his point total at 45 instead of 44?

I posted this last night, but for some reason it wasn't here this morning -- maybe I forgot to hit "submit"? Anyhow, here's a meaty little SMB from East Canyon. Got her on a frog popper (along with 30 or so others -- what a great day it was). She had 12.5" girth!

The first picture is from the lake, the second is right before dinner.

[#000080]Edit![/#000080]
[#ff0000][/#ff0000]
[#ff0000]Due to complaints I am sorry TBD I have to remove your points for the Bass. I highly doubt you would be the type of guy to catch a fish one year, freeze it, and measure it for the comp but I want to keep this as fair as possible. [/#ff0000]
[#ff0000][/#ff0000]
[#ff0000]Therefore you only have 45 points total. [/#ff0000]
[#ff0000][/#ff0000]
[#ff0000]Hopefully you choose to remain in the contest.[/#ff0000]

[#000080]6. [/#000080][#ff0000]If the fish is caught on a pontoon or float tube you may use your apron to hold the fish but the apron must be straight. As for the measuring process you must use a tape measure and it must be straight with no kinks.
The contest word must be clearly visible on a peice of paper (which can be inside a plastic bag if needed.)
[/#ff0000]
[#000080]
7. [#ff0000]All pictures must be taken at the lake or river.[/#ff0000][/#000080]

Boy, I am having a hell of a time following the rules, aren't I...? It didn't even cross my mind -- but it was pitch ass dark when I finally came to shore, and the phone was dead anyhow. Oh well, just another good reason to go back up there.

Then again, I probably had the psychic premonition last year to freeze that fish for the first ever fly fishing contest -- and to catch her evil twin this year to make the photo evidence all the more credible. (shhhh, don't tell anyone about my psychic skillz, yo)

Well done, FFL, you super sleuth, you.

Well, I'm glad I messed up the last one. Went back to East Canyon and had the same luck as last time. This time, as dusk set in, I couldn't keep them off a dark green balsa frog popper. This 18" pig gave me a hell of a scare, as she slammed it about a foot from my 'toon as I was lifting it out for another cast.

And yes, that is my uber Eagle Claw fly rod/spin rod combo that I got when I was 8 years old. Just found it my dad's garage last week and thought I'd give it a go. Wow, what a piece of crap... hah. Worked though!

Nice bass + crappy rod= tons of laughing actions. About time you got your measuring system to be straight or did you ask someone to help you out so you can take a nice picture for once.

It's called nostalgia, you little puke. I'd wager that my skills + crappy rod, versus your skills + whatever rod you can buy, borrow, or steal will = your downfall. Feel free to choose the water, the time, the date, the species, and how much you'd like to lose. I'll be there.

Ya I'm totally that stupid to steal someones rod ..... not! As well I'd rather fish in peace with a good buddy of mine and relax then hear a dog like you barking at me on a nice sunny day. I think those sheeps up at east canyon sounds more peaceful then your barking action.

I'm still laughing pretty good same as one of my other buddy that been lurking around you as well.[laugh]

[quote Flyfishinglover]Uh, I'm totally going to pass on that offer. Your crazy to think that I would waist my hard earned moneys on somthing soooo stoopid!! Besides, I'm scared that peeple will find out that I actually dont have a friggin' clue how to fly fish, and that I've cheated every chance I've had. I bow to your amazing skillz. I'm also a tool.[/quote]

Thank you for clearing that up.

Is it me or your computer is tripping on to much acid with what you think I wrote but your acid tripping computer is putting words in your mouth that you type that said I wrote it. Wow this is just funny. Might want to spot feeding your computer the wrong juice to be able to function right.

After fly fishing with many great people ya I totally would rather use lures and catch fish that way and ya i think the last sentence describe you more... Pretty sure I could't describe my self as that.

2012-2013 Bowling champ. Bragging rights!!!
Just go in your backyard back to work finding worms to use in the Jordan river close to home. [laugh]

Congratulation on your measurement this time [Wink]. I'm really proud of you.

That's all I have to say basically
