Starvation open water fishing
#1
I fished Starvation today in my tube from 9:00 until 3:00. I used fly tackle with a fast sinking line and size 4 crystal buggers in green, purple, and black. I started in Rabbit Gulch (it is still half covered with ice) and fished until noon and caught two typical Starvation rainbows. The weather was great in the morning with no wind. I got out and had lunch and drove over to the Indian Bay area and fished there from 12:00 until 3:00 and caught three more rainbows. I had two other fish on but that was it. The wind started up about 1:00 and it got miserable. This time of year you don't like having waves come over the back of your tube. There is a lot of open water, and with the wind today there is going to be a lot more. The reservoir is 92% full and rising. Not fast fishing but to be in a tube in February, it was wonderful!
