thoughts for horsethief reservoir

ok so my wife and i are fishing at horsethief reservoir this weekend... what makes this weekend a million times more special besides being with my wife is we are blessed with the opportunity to shoot a webisode for ugly stik in the new ugly stik tour featuring the new UGLY STIK GX2 rod... we will be shooting saturday the 9th and the 10th... my question is i wish i had a boat but will be fishing from shore by the dam.. i usually do well but any thought or ideas to just catch a lot of fish i really want a few big brown trout out of there any ideas options etc... just looking for input!!! thanks

i would say it is a little early still to just focus on browns but if you were i would try small jerk baits like yozurie pins or small rapala countdown i was up there a month ago and the fishing was way better at corral creek reservoir and the trout were a little bigger it is only like 3 miles form horsetheif and is worth checking when we were up there a guy told me they caught a small brown off of the big dock just on a worm and marshmallow good luck hope this helps
