Thought I would throw a quick report on before work this morning. Fished the river channel in alpine yesterday. Ice was 10 inches with no slush and only a skiff of snow. Edge was sloppy but not a problem with a plank. The ice goes from alpine to the flats. Open water on the rest of the lake other than a giant slab stuck in the narrows. Both big and little elk bays are froze and should be fishable soon. Also, the bear creek inlet is frozen if you have a sled to get around there. Fishing was great, we caught 7. As you all know the Sades can hand you a skunkin any day so I'll take the 7. Good luck if you head up and be careful! Take a plank!

Thanks for the report. I've been wanting to ice fish it but thought it was still all open water. Will hit it this monday .
