FISHNROD, Chickamauga, Yellow Bass, White Bass and Crappie, 2/8/2015, The Wife
#1
To fish or not to fish? To fish, of course! The wife and I hit the lake around 2pm today the temp was in the high 50s when we first got out and hit the low 60s before it was all said and done. I have a Humminbird 798ci hd si on the front and by my steering wheel and man I love those things. I have read on some post that the side scan don't work on the trolling motor and you cant really see fish on the side scan but im here to tell you these statements or far from the truth. I used the side scan to find separate fish and schooling fish. I used the side scan on the trolling motor like the 360. I was like cast your bait right over there and guess what? THUMP! I did this all day. We only managed to boat 1 crappie but caught a boatload of white and stripe bass. Warm front easing its way in and overcast skies put these fish in a feeding frenzy. We were using some Bobby Garland and Assassin in the Electric Chicken color and Black and chartreuse jigs that were abour 5 to 6 feet under a float. We chased around a couple different schools some different school held bigger fish. All and all it was one of those days that don't happen often. We wore them out till they wore us out. LOL.
