I was up there last week to bid on the new boat ramp that they are planning to put in. It was beautiful, unfortunately the poles stayed home so I could get back to work[] I hope we win the job though so I can spend a month up there

I was up there the second week of July. The lake is full this year but the fishing was slow. We caught a few planters but nothing exciting this year. Good news though the bugs weren't to bad. Love that place.[fishon]

Are they going to put the boat ramp in this year? It has been long over due.[fishon]

They are bidding the project this year... but you never know with government work. It will have to happen in the fall because they will have to bring the lake level down a bit to accommodate putting it in and they wont do that until the end of the irrigation season. Hopefully they award before the snow starts to fly

Please post when you get back! I'm interested in the fishing report. I'm heading up there with my wife, 6 year old, and 2 year old on the 19-22 and want to try and get them in some fish! Good luck to you! [signature]

I was up there last week, fly fished it from the dam area for a few minutes. I caught a few rainbows on leech patterns. The water level is pretty low.

I haven't been to Moon Lake for several years - decided to take a trip out for 5 days in July. Place is still absolutely beautiful. Nice and cool, quiet and relaxing. There were 4 of us fishing every day. We threw everything in the box from shore - walked great distances from the camp in both directions every day early morning and various times throughout the day and absolutely nothing. Finally on Saturday we rented a boat for the day and trolled and drifted from one end to the other. We caught 6 fish, the biggest being about 6". There was a guy in the camp next to us who said he fished up there 2 - 3 times a summer since he was a kid. He had a rubber raft and electric motor and in 4 days he didn't catch anything.
Camping was great and relaxing but fishing was a definite no go. [signature]
