Palisade State Park – Soft water
Fishing Stories | Utah gofish435 PM
A buddy and I heard that Palisade Reservoir was ice free so we grabbed our tubes and headed for Sterling.
We launched at the State Park ramp and fished good portion of the reservoir. We used fly tackle with medium sinking lines and size 8 bead head buggers and leeches. We picked up one 13″ cutthroat, a dozen tiger trout, and the rest were rainbows between 12″ and 15″.
The water level is about 2′ from being full. The water temperature was 40-42 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 8′.
There were a half dozen shore anglers but no one else on the water.
You couldn’t ask for better weather.
I’m not sure how all this is going to work, this upgrade has some bugs to work out. Don’t know how to load more than one picture
