I've had a few people ask me where they can get their hand ice auger (Mora, Lazer, etc) blades resharpened locally. Where do you get your blades done and the contact info. Thanks! (I am not talking about Nils' heads, or power auger, or chipper blades). I"m talking about manual, hand auger shaver blades.

These are the two that I have found that are reasonable., Strike Master used to have an exchange, but it appears that they no longer do that !!
Thanks. I saw both of those, but has anyone actually used them and what did they think. I used to use Strikemaster, but since they were bought out by Rapala they don't do it any longer. I know there are a lot of augers out there and I'm sure people get them sharpened. I want a place that people have used before. There are dozens of places on line, I was hoping for someone in Utah that people could vouch for.

.....but has anyone here actually used him for regular blades? What were the results. I could send them to dozens of places on line, but I was hoping to use a local place to support them. I can wait and check with friends in other states to see where they are sending their blades. I want a review before I choose. There are plenty of people who say some places ruined their blades when trying to sharpen them.

I sent four sets of blades for my 10" eskimo to fish307 in 2014. I opted for the "send me back my blades" which takes a couple of extra days. Below are pics of the two oldest sets of blades before and after fish307 sharpened them. The before pic I took in 2014 prior to sending to fish307 the after pic I just took now arranging the blades the same way as in 2014. The set of blades on the right side of the pic are the original blades that came with the auger 20 years ago and were the blades that I used right after getting them back from fish307. The resharpened original blades cut like new and I used that set from 2015 to 2018 so the blades on the right also have four years of use on them. Attached is my receipt from fish307 in 2014 when they had a special deal for $9 per set of blades so I sent them four used blades; I will never buy new blades again.
I was drilling holes on used blades sharpened by fish307 at Strawberry yesterday through ice that was over two feet thick and this is the fourth season on those blades. Hope that helps.
That is perfect and what I was looking for. My friend decided to use the Fish307 too, but the price is $12.00/set with $4.95 shipping up to three sets of blades. Still not too bad considering the cost of a new set of blades. I too have three sets and I send in two of them for sharpening when I put the last set on my auger. I'm like you, I will never have to buy new blades again.
