[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Channel catfish are being caught above Overton Beach Marina and at Stewart’s Point. Anchovies are taking the catfish as well as occasional stripers in those areas.

Very good fishing was found over the weekend at Cottonwood Cove as Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) creel census clerks checked nearly 200 striped bass that weighed from a half pound to 2 pounds.
Boaters who are drifting with have found most of the action for stripers anchovies just beyond the narrows above Cottonwood. Some fish are being caught around Owl’s Point as well.
Largemouth bass fishing has also been hot in the Cottonwood area. Anglers are finding success fishing with tube lures and jig and pig baits.
There has been light fishing pressure and few fish caught recently in the Willow Beach area.

Rainy and very breezy weather continued to make fishing conditions difficult. Daniel Maes, Assistant Area Supervisor, said that fishing pressure was heavy but the success rate was low. Some anglers were successful as they landed a few rainbow trout that ranged 13 – 15 inches. PowerBait and worms were the baits of choice.
The final spring stocking of Haymeadow Reservoir was accomplished last week. Daytime temperatures reached the high 60s while the lows were in the high 20s.

Cave Lake, Comins Lake and Illipah Reservoir are now free of ice and the trout fishing has been fairly good at all of the lakes, according to Chris Crookshanks, NDOW biologist.
Rainbow trout that weigh 3 to 4 pounds are being caught at Comins, which is located approximately seven miles south of Ely adjacent to U.S. 93. Illipah, located west of Ely, has had good fishing for rainbow trout that were stocked last year. NDOW will stock the three lakes with rainbow trout within two weeks.
