The upper end of the reservoir is a little murky, yet anglers continued to take small largemouth bass with small spinners and crank baits. [font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]The best area of the lake to find stripers appears to be Boulder Beach where anglers are chumming with corn to attract stripers then fishing deep with anchovies to catch fish that weigh 2 to 3 pounds. Boaters are using jigs to catch stripers that weigh around a pound from the 33 Hole to Government Wash. Sporadic success has been found outside the tires at Lake Mead Marina.[/size][/font]

The 40 fishers who were on hand for last Friday’s (8/6/04) rainbow trout plant at Willow Beach had fair success, but no 10-fish limits were seen. PowerBait and spoons were catching the fish. Plans call for the area to be stocked again this Friday (8/13/04).
Boaters continue to connect with stripers that weigh 10 pounds or more in the Willow Beach area. The best fishing has been coming at night by casting and trolling large lures that imitate rainbow trout.
Anglers appear to be staying indoors rather than brave the hot weather that is being found at Cottonwood Cove. The few boaters who have taken to the water during the past week have enjoyed fair action for 12-inch stripers by trolling near Cottonwood.
