Hey, for those of you that have Toons, or any of you guys that use Fish Cat 4's or Super Fat Cat style tubes, how and what do you use to fix your pinhole leaks? How long do you let the patch "cure" before you reuse the tube? I have two so I can use my other "ride" but I love the FC4 and would like to use it possibly as soon as next week (TH,FR). I have a tube of Aquaseal in the fridge and have some duct tape but haven't applied a McGyver fix to the problem area yet. I fished Blue Lake on Saturday and had to stop a couple times to give my tube mouth to mouth to retain flotation. I'd much rather fish worry free if I go out again this next week. I did see the last post on flotation however and feel that the foam may be enough to float me, but I would rather not take that chance if it can be avoided. [Tongue]

[black]My boat and tube bladders are Urathane, so I use this tape I bought from AIRE and a nickle. It welds to the bladders. As far as finding leaks, dish soap and a bath tub. Rub dish soap on the bladder, stick it in the tub and look for bubbles.[/black]
[black]I have only had to do this once and it wasn't my tube (knock on wood). I have had my SFC for around 10 years, my Cardiac Canyon for 6 years and the Echo for 1 1/2 years and haven't had a leak. Urathane is the key in my opinion[/black]

[cool][#0000ff]Plain old Aquaseal will do the job. Deflate the air bladder, lay it out as flat as possible and squeeze on just enough goop to make a circle about an inch across. Let it cure 12 to 24 hours and you're good to go.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Next time don't let those bluegills bounce off your tube. They always land spines first...just like your bread lands jelly side down when you drop it.[/#0000ff]

I understand that if you add amonia to some soapy water it helps it to bubble easier.

You might want to take the pins out of your new shirt before you fish to avoid the problem in the future [Tongue]
