Full Version: Will be in Craig next week -- Need advice

Work takes me to Craig, CO next week and I may try to hit some of the local waters. I have also post this on the UT board (my home state).

Looking mostly for some out-of-the-way fishing, which probably means rivers. I will only be able to fish in the evenings, like after 5:00 pm. I'm most accustomed to targeting trout, although I'm open for other species (pike in the Yampa, etc. ?). The flyfishing colleague isn't going, so I'll be flipping jigs and lures, etc. I also don't mind driving a little, but time constraints and daylight limits post-work travel to 45 mins or so.

Anywho, just wondering if anyone has some suggestions or can at least point me in the right direction--location, tackle, or otherwise. Or, if there's somewhere you could point me for info (website, fly shop in town, etc.) that would be great. My research thus far has proven...unproductive.

Thanks,

I wish I could help, but I just don't know that area very well. Mackaddict does, though, and I see he responded to your post on the Utah board.

It's about time for Stagecoach to turn over, so I would ask around a little in Craig before investing much time there.

Sorry didn't see the post over here until after I replied to the ut. side. Check the reply on the ut. board and let me know if you have any questions. If you have access to the net while in craig pm me and let me know. I will be able to make some calls and see what's been hot lately.
