The kids and myself have been going stir crazy and needed to get away. We decided yesterday afternoon to pack up and spend the night at our cabin at Scofield. It is always a pleasant surprise to pull up and see the turnout by our access road plowed. It is even a better surprise to find that someone had even plowed the road into our cabin area. That sure saves time and energy not having to trek back and forth with gear from the vehicle.

I wanted to be on the ice nice and early to see if maybe the bite was happening before sunup. Got on the ice at around 6:00 am. From 6:30 to 7:00 had mutiple hits but nothing to show for it.

Stopped fishing at 11:00 am and caught a grand total of 3 fish. Two that were barely 10" long and one around 16". Had quite a few hits all morning, but no hook ups. It was weird. There would be just one bump and that would be it. Usually, you can coax a few more to stay with it, but not today. Tried multiple lures, jigs, etc. I found a glow in the dark Rat Finkee was getting the most attention, followed by a plain old worm and marshmellow.

Scofield has been kind of tough lately. Glad you at least caught a few. I got skunked today at Utah Lake.

Where is your cabin at? I have a cabin up in Aspen Cove.

We fished Schofield yesterday & today fished over near the damm and same story slow fishing we did hit a school of planters about 10 to 12 inches but only two were keepers that were around 15 & 16 inches.

Spoke with a few other people on the ice and same who knows maybe the tourney has something to do with it [:p]

I fished Scofield today too. Got a late start, arrived at 8:00. Fished by the little cabins from 8-11. No bites and only a couple of swim by's. Decided to head to the west side again. Snowshoed in and got set up about 11:30 and fished till a little after 3pm, in five feet of water.

Ended up with 11, six tigers, five cutts.

Used glow jighead tipped with crawler.

Lots of slush in places. Real pain to get very far away from shore. Did get to area with no slush. As soon as I drilled the hole, I was standing in 2 inches of water.

Fun day, but the fishing was kind of slow.

Our cabin is in the first set of cabins past Madsen Bay. It is on the shoreline that faces directly south.

My buddy and I went up for the evening today also. Not a bite. We moved around and tried everything in our tackle, and came home completly skunked! I don't know what the deal is. It was fun to get out and just shoot the breeze though! What a great day weather wise to fish!
