So I took my toon out couple of times now. Everything
is going great (after few mods) but that stupid
transport wheel is just total pain the the............
There is a huge rear cargo deck which is super nice but
it makes putting that wheel on very hard.
There just got to be a better way.......................

With the deck on, the wheel is mounted in the middle of the boat (back of the frame), so yes, it can be a bit tough to put on and take off, but didn't you see that going in?

I haven't looked at mine lately but is it possible to mount the rear deck a few inches further back so once you get to the water you could unclip it and reach between the frame and the deck to lift it out of there. You could also put it back on as long as the boat is in the water. You might need to mount a couple spacers to keep it back.
Another thought (and again I don't have mine assembled to try it): Does it do any good to drill a second set of holes further down so you could at least lift it up higher once you've got it to the water. I know you had problems with weeds, but if it's higher that would be less of a problem. Also, once summer is over and the weeds are gone, you can just leave it in place to act as a keel, even when you have the motor mounted.
A more drastic solution might be to mount a wheel holder tube that both pivots and locks rather than the current fixed tube. That would allow you to pivot it up sideways when you don't need it (if it doesn't hit the pontoon) and rotate it back down when you do. If it can be rotated enought to clear the water you would be good. Would probably take some welding and or metal fabrication skills.

When I started out wrenching a million years ago it seems. I was with a field tech on a drill rig in Wyoming. I think I was 23 or 24 at the time. We were taking off a pump. My wrench slipped, I smashed my hand and let loose with some choice expletives and started hitting the pump with my wrench. Carl (my mentor) looked at me and asked me what the hell I was doing. "Haven't you figured out by now, who's got the brains and what is just a piece of machinery?
God gave you the brains so use them. The pump is only a piece of iron. Never let an inanimate object kick your ass."
31 years later, I've never forgotten what he said to me.

I was thinking to make a extender (welding and such)
that would move the wheel tube about 12'' further back.
That sure would make it a lot easier to install it.
Its not that bad to put it on when on dry land but in the
water its very hard without getting water down my
waders ( waders rolled down my waist).
Anyways, I will keep working on it.
