I arrived at the hole just as the sun was creeping over the mountain. 56F with a slight wind, it felt great out. Started off in the shallow back coves and played around with some dink lmb nothing over a foot.

Moved on to a main lake point made a blind cast towards some deep water and nailed a healthy striper. For the next 5 hours I camped on that same spot and slaughtered the stripers. Anything shad patterned was getting nailed but the deep diver raps seemed to outperform the rest.

Some relatives were coming over for dinner so I decided to harvest 20, caught & released at least double that. I made crispy fried striper fingers and the other half my girl made baked striper enchiladas’ mmm Enjoy![Wink]

You must have got into a school at the perfect time... Just got home from there we started at 5am and only got 3 stripers.... 1 keeper lol.... Oh well we did something right because I didn't see a single person pull one in besides us.... Billions of shad man they were boiling like crazy just millions of them 4 hours straight... Only saw 2 decent splashes so the fish just weren't there...Sad boats were all over the place seeing shad in the radar and they didn't get squat either....

Don't say that! I plan to kayak fish out there at the butt crack of dawn tomorrow. Too bad I don't have a casting net, sounds like I could throw at net anywhere and pull in live bait.

If you're out tomorrow and see a yellow kayak with a big fishing nerd on it, give a wave, that will be me.

[font "Calibri"][/font]Well what can I say, they don’t call me the “Shore King” for no reason hahaha [Wink][cool] but seriously it’s hit or miss bro sounds like you did alright just put in the time and it will pay off.

If you ask me seeing those shad close to shore is the ticket often times the predatory fish are hanging around in the same area. Cast, cast, cast and cast some more is my motto.

My top striper baits even if there are no boils are the chrome rattletrap, 6” shad storm swimbait, shad rap deep diver and the LC pointer 100. Wish ya better luck next time dude [cool]

That's what I got one on was a chrome rattle trap deep diver... My son got 2 on live shad a guy gave us after netting a thousand in his underwear in freezing temps haha... We will be back no doubt... Really wanting to hit willow in the morning but it seems the bite is better at sun down over there... Hmmm decisions decisions.....lol
