i had to get out in the boat. its been a month. 13 degrees at put in. well we got smoked. found fish everywhere in the narrows but they wouldnt bite. only caught 1 monster crappie and 2 perch. the fish finder blew up all through the narrows but it stunk. guess spending the day w/ my old man made it worth it.

Had the same idea but was coward. I'll try to put it out of my head untill we get warm spell in January. Gotta give you credit for giving it a shot. (separates the men from the boys)

I have got to get over there and see if the trout are doing anything. Today would have been a really nice day over there with bluebird skies and no wind. Mike

i'm a bass guy 100% until they stop but will try crappie after that. love not seeing the warm weather rookie crowds hammering the same spots with the poor mans fish finder. didnt even see trout jumping like usual either

Thanks for checking it out so I didn't have too!
I'm suprised they were not biting.................

Ok I have to know what is a "poor mans fish finder?"

[fishin]poor man fish finder is when most rookies go somewhere and just decide to fish where everyone else is or they decide to fish by you when they could easily go somewhere else. they see someone catch one and move closer to them. strike hump and narrows are a perfect example.[

ah yes ilovesmallies ! i have seen that tons of times. a good one, couple years ago i got tired and anchored up to eat lunch. i had my rod laying down and my spinnerbait was maybe an inch under the water. my brother and i were eating lunch. then here comes one boat anchored up 20 feet from us. they caught nothing, then two more boats saw the two of us anchored up, and anchored by us. they fished and caught nothing. i was anchored in very unproductive waters maybe 5' deep. before we were done with lunch 9 boats were anchored around us with zero fish caught. an it all started because i was feeling like a 'samich ! lol.[
