Im looking for some new flies to tie. Something a little different than the common flies. Mostly looking for some subsurface flies and streamers. If you have any patterns you like to tie or fish I want to try some new ties. And if you can include a list of materials and a picture that would be awesome.
I gave this request to flygoddes a while ago but im sure you would love to make this fly [laugh].
http://www.fieldandstream.com/node/1001312826
i too have dropped my iPhone in the river but for some odd reason I chose to pay $40 and fix it instead of tear it apart and make "the most expensive fly" I have been messing around a lot with nymphs and some stone fly patterns... I am yet to get into dries though. I have just been looking through YouTube videos and checking out fly tying videos and finding ones am like and just tying along with the video. Maybe we oughta do a fly tying night. If only I was quick enough to get the tying station from fg!

"Subsurface", I wouldn't use a bugger and cones, that will take you to the bottom.
I like smaller bugs for this as I like to use light weight gear.
You will have to look them up, but the list is
RS2, WD40 and I put Frog's Fanny on them as it forms a bubble appearance like a hatching fly.
Look up Emergers too. This is one of my all time favorites. It can be fished dry, or give a little tug and it goes sub surface, pull more and it is a nymph.

BUT, you got to try SOFT HACKLES! even old wet flies.
