Wyoming cow Elk - 2knots - 10-17-2020 Spent the last 2.5 weeks of September trying to fill my cow/calf tag during archery season but couldn’t find a cow that would cooperate, of course the bulls just stood around and looked at me,how do they know lol. Went back out on Wednesday for the rifle season start on Thursday, went into the area we had seen elk during archery with little sign so moved into another area and connected this am on a cow. 5 hours later she was broken down and back at the truck. Was a bit over gunned with the 28 Nosler and the 25yd shot after she about ran me over lol RE: Wyoming cow Elk - Jig-fisher - 10-18-2020 Cows taste great. Nice! The Wilson message made me laugh! RE: Wyoming cow Elk - Bduck - 10-18-2020 Congrats on getting a cow. What's the next hunt on your list? RE: Wyoming cow Elk - wiperhunter2 - 10-19-2020 Nice going Alan, she should be good eating. It's all fun until the elk is on the ground, then the work begins, breaking it down and hauling it out. How far back in there were you? RE: Wyoming cow Elk - 2knots - 10-19-2020 (10-19-2020, 12:14 PM)wiperhunter2 Wrote: Nice going Alan, she should be good eating. I once bought a .25-06 so I could really increase my range, still working on my first buck as a kid, and hen shot a yearling forky at 25 yards on day one. Congrats.... |
