Nice going Alan, she should be good eating. It's all fun until the elk is on the ground, then the work begins, breaking it down and hauling it out. 
How far back in there were you?

How far back in there were you? Thanks Curt, Just over 1/2 mile, terrain was favorable and found an old skid trail that made it easier

I know just how you feel. I once bought a .25-06 so I could really increase my range, still working on my first buck as a kid, and hen shot a yearling forky at 25 yards on day one.
