State Record. - PREDATOR - 11-19-2004 One of my good friends was kind enough to track this down and send it to me. This is Clifford Sackett jr's 23 1/2 inch 8 1/4 lb jordanelle catch and release state record smallmouth bass. [inline Scan136.jpg] Sorry about the washed out look to the photo. It didnt come to me that way. I dont know what happened. [signature] Re: [PREDATOR] State Record. - PREDATOR - 11-19-2004 There! Its fixed now. Much better. [inline Scan136.jpg] [signature] Re: [PREDATOR] State Record. - Shrimpboy - 11-19-2004 I'm not saying that it doens't weigh over 8lbs because I know how deceiving photos can be, but it really doesn't look as big as some of the other pics I've seen of Jordanelle smallies. Old Cliff must be a big guy. Man I'd love to catch a fish like that! [signature] Re: [Shrimpboy] State Record. - mikecromaine - 11-19-2004 WELL HE DOES LOOK PRETTY FAT THERE NICE FISH THOU GREAT PIC TOO [signature] Re: [mikecromaine] State Record. - tomegun - 11-20-2004 [black][size 2]Are you some kinda freak or what? [ ![]() [signature] Re: [tomegun] State Record. - DonInDenver - 11-20-2004 Tomegun- I have to say that it sure doesn't appear to me that it's over 20" either. And it sure doesn't look like it approaches 8 lbs. Beats me. I'm always inclined to give a fellow fisherman the benefit of the doubt, but this one has me more than a little skeptical. [signature] Re: [tomegun] State Record. - iconoclasticPaul - 11-20-2004 [reply] [black][size 2]Are you some kinda freak or what? [ ![]() I agree with Tomegun... that fish looks exactly like the one I caught last summer and it was only 18 inch and 5 pound and a half. My buddy Jason caught one bigger than the one in the photo by Clif and it was definitely bigger and fatter than Clif. Something is wrong here... [signature] Re: [iconoclasticPaul] State Record. - tomegun - 11-20-2004 [size 2]The freak comment is for Cromaine. I my picture of Jason's 7.3lber is too big I can't upload it. [/size] [signature] Re: [PREDATOR] State Record. - SKEETER2 - 11-20-2004 All this time I thought I was catching 3 and 4 pounders. Wow! after looking at that picture I had the state record! [signature] Re: [PREDATOR] State Record. - fairwayphilly - 11-20-2004 I've got to agree with the concensus here. I've seen a lot of pictures that doesn't do a fish justice, but this one certainly doesn't look like an 8 pound fish. Doesn't mean that it isn't, just doesn't look that way. [signature] Re: [PREDATOR] State Record. - maniac - 11-20-2004 I have to call Bull S#!t on that one! I have seen pics of three and four pound smallies, that make that one look like a dink! That can't be the right picture of the eight pound smallie he caught. [signature] Re: [tomegun] State Record. - mikecromaine - 11-20-2004 OK I TRY NOT TO [#ff0000]BLEEP[/#ff0000] OFF SOMEONE AND I STILL [#ff0000]BLEEP[/#ff0000] SOMEONE OFF OK I GIVE UP TOM YES I AM A FREAK AND THANKS [signature] Re: [PREDATOR] State Record. - Theekillerbee - 11-20-2004 Now I'm not a decent bass fisherman by any stretch of the imagination, but unless Mr. Sackett is as big as Andre the Giant, the pictures of the smallies you and Tommy caught this year, were everywhere as big, if not bigger looking than that fish. Just my two cents anyways. [signature] Re: [mikecromaine] State Record. - tomegun - 11-20-2004 [size 2]Mike, you are still the best at swimming after a catfish/fishin pole that I ever seen.[ ![]() [signature] Re: [tomegun] State Record. - Xman - 11-20-2004 hmmm thats a 18 inch fish and weight is hard to guess but it cant be over 4 lbs. i see why my c and r records are beat now. by fish that dont measure up. oh well if someone wants the record that bad go for it. [signature] Re: [Xman] State Record. - Hose - 11-21-2004 Does the shoreline even look like Jordanelle? [signature] Re: [Hose] State Record. - neveronsunday - 11-21-2004 [red][size 3]If that's an 8 pound 23" fish so is this one [laugh]. [inline jordsm.JPG][/size][/red] [signature] Re: [neveronsunday] State Record. - slayerace - 11-21-2004 Here is a photo I found online of a supposed 7lb 12oz Smallie... Notice that his fist could fit in the fish's mouth. ![]() [signature] Re: [tomegun] State Record. - utwalleye - 11-21-2004 This conversation took place last year and we all had decided that the fish looks small. it might be right or not but it still looks small to me. heres a pic of a 19 1/4in smallie caught 2 years ago. later chuck [signature] Re: [tomegun] State Record. - MrLipripper - 11-21-2004 That whole catch and release record thing is bogus. To qualify for a state record it needs to be weighed on a Weights and Measures authenticated scale and within a certain amount of time, correct? From threads and posts on I have read on BFT, it seems like most weights are exaggerated. "I caught an 18" rainbow at Strawberry that was 6 lbs." My "eye" scale may not be perfect but come on!! If you check the Utah catch and release record book I have seen, there are a bunch of Johnsons (like in the Mel Brooks move "Blazing Saddles") listed - I'm sure they are all related. I certainly approve of catch and release (I'm more into hook and release[ ![]() [signature] |
