Grayling on the upper Bear river - wiperhunter2 - 08-02-2008 A friend of mine was fly fishing the upper bear last week end using a royal wuff. He said he caught a bunch of brook trout and cutts but the surprised came when he pulled in a 12 inch grayling[]. He said he was fishing below the Steel water camp ground. Thats all the info I got from him but I was wondering if anyone else has ever caught any grayling on the upper bear before? I caught a grayling to my surprise as well. I caught five different types of fish out of that river... cuts, brooks, bows, whitefish (on dry flies!), and the grayling. It was great. Sounds like you had a good day in that area also. I don't know if the DWR are stocking grayling in the rivers now but I had heard they were being stocked in lakes in that area. WH2 [signature] |
