Weber River waterflows - GP - 10-16-2010 Went up to the Moutain Green Exit yesterday to fish. The waterflows had gone from 50 cfs to 650 fps. A couple picking up rocks told me a fisherman almost drowned trying to get back across the river. They showed me a 20 ft. log that was caught below the bridge that almost hit him. Who controls the water? They are going to drown someone. Displayed flows for 10/15 and 16 are at 1.2 cfs. [signature] Re: [Browntrout] Weber River waterflows - GP - 10-17-2010 Look at Gateway. Where does the water come from? [signature] Re: [GP] Weber River waterflows - Browntrout - 10-17-2010 I just emailed the USGS to find where the peak (650 CFS) Gateway water came from. When I receive a response I will post it. I suspect they quit taking water out of the Weber at that point. It could have been a combination of shutting down that intake below Morgan while the flow from Echo was still at the level to supply it. That would have caused a head of water to move down the river with the flow behind it at a much higher level. Leechman [signature] |
