Ellis or Salmon? - Fishaholicsteve - 12-08-2012 Hi all. I am thinking of making a day trip to steelhead fish tomorrow. I am having a hard time deciding on where to go. I will have more time to fish if I go to Ellis, but if I go to Salmon I think my odds are probably better....What do you all think? Also what is working this year? In the past I have used beads, squishy eggs, shrimp, helgies, yarn, pretty much you name it. My favorite has been a Anise scented squishy egg with yarn and a corkie. There are a few being caught around Ellis, but not very many. Fresh roe under cleardrift 35 gram floats has filled up my tag this season....... Although i enjoy fishing the Clearwater, I miss my old haunts on the salmon river more and more every day. I need to swing a trip down there in a really bad way. Sadly it's not going to happen until the spring. Hopefully I can make it work in late Febuary or early March. When ever Deadwater blows out and the river cleans up. [signature] |
