2 firsts from Willard. - barberjd78 - 06-15-2015 Hit Willard this weekend thought I would get out and see if I could catch one of these wipers. Sat I got out and started trolling at around noon 2.5 to 2.75 mph was the ticket for me. Caught my first Wipers nothing over 16" but did catch 4 in an hour and half. All went home to get a little bigger. Sunday went back out and caught two that I felt were worthy of keeping. Sunday My wife and I both caught our first ever walleyes. Not a bad weekend. Fished in 13 to 14.5 ft of water and had majority of the wiper hits came on a chartreuse Berkley #9 Flicker minnow. All walleye came on a lemonade #7 flicker minnow. I've caught stripped bass and white bass but these wipers amazed me at how aggressive and how hard they fought.....I think I'm Hooked!
