What would YOU like to read?
#1
Okay fellow anglers ... What kind of fishing related article would you like to see in the Ogden Standard-Examiner's XPLORE outdoors section? I write for them on occasion, and am always looking for ideas. Some pieces I do are serious and instructive, others are humorous and light reading. But some serious input would be appreciated.

Thanks guys and gals!

If you want to redo last weeks cover every week, the picture was so good looking you would sell millions[angelic][angelic][angelic]

how about a story on how to build a rod,how to tie a fly,how about a story on fathers teaching their sons as their fathers did for them( it just is not happening),or a story on the reasons for declining license sales, up date on the river right of way law suit we heard about a couple years ago. How about some drawings of riggings -ice fishing, fly fishing etc.

I will keep thinking of more for you.

Very funny James. How about a story about Mom's and Grandmas teaching their kids and grandkids to fish like her father did. Just kidding. I think that a good story on ice safety would be good. And a story on how the jetskis are never out as far from the bank as they are supposed to be. Maybe rules on that.

A story about guys fishing with Boogers would deffinately not be funny.

a story about no matter what the DWR does it is not right to somebody loose, loose situation.

a Story about the Fly fishing instructor at Davis High.Teaches 300 people a year to fish.

Entomolgy stories (bugs)=flies

ichtheology stories(fish)-life spans,habits,detection.

Good ideas, guys. (except for the "cover" part! *ha-ha*)
I always have to run things by the editor up there. And too often I hear one thing, and then they do something else. i.e. Story lines and photos that get promised, but then are never published. One problem being that they're not really outdoors people in the sense of fishing and hunting.
But thanks for the input, and I'll see what I can do.

Probably should do something on BFT, don't you think?[Wink]

Yea dude, you really missed out. It was a heck of a good picture![Wink]

If more people had known about it there would have been less people looking at that janet jackson pic.[angelic]

Just a thought but maybe about getting more women involved in the fishing industry and not being afraid of it.[Smile]It seems everyone I talk too at least at work there is one one lady there that fishes with her kids and loves it besides me. So getting more ladies involved would be good. The other guys' ideas were good too!

I agree with you stacy. More women need to get involved with their family and start fishing and camping. If they were to do a story on it and how much fun it is maybe more women would join in on the fun. And make it a family thing.

I've done a couple of articles over the past year or so about women & fishing / hunting. My wife loves to fish from the boat, so we go to the Gorge quite a bit.

Today's piece in XPLORE is about the KSL Radio Utah Outdoors guys; Tim Hughes & Cris Draper. They're a hoot!

Thanks for the ideas!
