Boogers Rule at East Canyon!
#1
Went to East Canyon with a friend today. Windy and snowy down by the marina. Out about 50 yards from the buoys from 8:30-11:00 with several bites 2-3 cranks off the bottom. Moved in about 30 yards and switched to white boogers with meal worm and salmon eggs suspended down about 15 feet. We limited out by 12:45 with 12-15" rainbows. Ice was 11" thick. A few other people there but couldn't see what their success was. Bad weather=good fishing.[Wink]

What is a booger? I know the ones that are always hanging out my little boys nose, but I would like to know the ones that let you limit out in 1.5 hours in the middle of the day.

I've heard that not just any booger will do. You have to PICK the right one...[laugh]

Hey HA69, just tell him to look up, and then you can peek at his boogers. Seriously though, I bought some and haven't had the best success with them yet, but I'm sure it's me. All I've been catching lately are perch, and while I have caught some on the boogers, most have been on ratfinkees. I'm sure they'd be better on trout. They're available in white, green and green sparkly(the wet look). They're pretty cheap too. I'd love to post a pic, but I'd be banned from Hooked for life. Maybe I'll post it under my wife's user name, and then I wouldn't have to take her with me to the tackle store.

The "wet look" I like it. I did expect they would work better on trout. Thanks for the reports on them guys.

I was thinking of changing the name to: James's Booger, but that would be even weirder.

guy 1: what you useing

guy 2: James's booger

guy 1: ------silence---------gag-------puke!!!!!

not a pretty picture.

James, are you going to bring a booger to the fly tying party in April? Will one stay fresh that long? DKS

I guess I need to visit Hooked Tackle . I haven't been there since last summer . If I was fishing Pineview like I was last year I always try to stop by then . Here is a pic of some of my creations . They have caught there fare share of perch and trout this season . I'm in experiment mode now on these this year .

I was wondering ... is the BOOGER like a fly?
And if so, is it a wet one,
or dry?

(check under the counters at his store for dries, I suppose?)

Gotta be a dry! If it were like a wet fly it'd be called a snot! [Tongue][cool][shocked][sly]
