#1
[#800080]I have bought two more Loomis rods this winter. One a 7 foot crankbait rod in December and the other a GL2 medium-light 7 footer, I just bought at Galyans for $70. [/#800080]

[#800080] See all the trouble I can get into when I'm not fishing, the stores love me.[blush][cool][Tongue][/#800080]

I bought an ice shelter. It's nice when it's snowing or blowing, but I'm huffing and puffing when I have to pull it back up the hill.

I bought a fish finder. It wasn't even all that expensive but I can't believe the difference it makes. Don't know how I got along without one for so long.

I bought an A.R.E. Hard Tonneau cover for my F350 to cover all of my Fishing gear when its in the truck, so all of my semi expensive gear doesnt get ripped off when I go to Derbies and stay in a hotel. Well thats what I tell myslef anyway. [crazy]

[cool][blue]Hey tomegun, I neglected to chime in on your post about having problems with sizing and manipulating. I have the Olympus D-550, and have gone through all that you are now going through. Shoot me a PM and maybe I can offer some help in working through the details.[/blue]

[#0000ff]What have I acquired recently? Only about half the combined mail order stock of Cabelas, Janns Netcraft and Barlows. Got some BassPro too. Equal opportunity spendthrift. (Honest, dear, I really do need all that stuff.)[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Now I should be ready for the annual onslaught of tubing and fishing. Hope I get out more this year than I did last year.[/#0000ff]

I traded in my old Eagle portable fish finder for the new Vexilar FL-8 SE. Wow! What a difference! Best purchase I've made for ice fishing.

It's winter, the lakes are frozen, so what did I buy? A new Canon downrigger from Hellsangler69 on the BFT Utah For Sale board. I also ordered a Cabelas Depth master combo rod/reel to go with the downrigger.

I am buying a new fish finder for my boat. I took the existing one off and rigged it up for ice fishing. The old Humminbird Wide Eye has 500 watts RMS and 4000 Watts Peak to Peak which give me the power & sensitivity to see even a tiny ratfinkie at 50+' deep. You can set the sensitivity up high enough so the lure is a solid line. When the fish come in, it is obvious when they move in on it tight.

Next year my major purchase will be an ice fishing shelter. Any suggestions for a 2-person model?
