New To the Board

Hi Everyone! I am new to fishing and to this forum. My name is Mike and I just started learning how to fish. I mostly do fishing on a boat but would like to fish in shore or in ponds and lakes. I live in Queens New York.
Would like some help picking out rods and I have a ton of questions if anyone can help me out. Thank you.
