The water level on the "Big G" is down substantially, and the wind and rain from the last few days has really depleted the thicker grass mats. With these elements being combined together at the same time it can only mean one thing...IT'S TOUGH! We do have some consistent sunshine coming in for the next few days and it will be just in time to help get the lake back in great condition for the Snag Proof Open on the 17th. Today my client and I focused mainly on using Choo Choo Lures swimjigs around shallow grass lines and we, well "HE" was able to catch some sloid quality fish with this pattern. We also went to some of the thicker grass areas where the mats had dissapeared from and "HE" was able to get a couple of "GIANT" fish to explode on his Snag Proof Buzzfrog but was unable to connect. The size of these explosions did however get him "cranked up" on what kind of fish will hit a buzzfrog. The strong wind combined with the rain today made fishing these areas a little more difficult than normal but we, "HE", still ended up having a blast catching a few fish. Have some fun. Mike Carter
